Future leap; Your Sustainability Team

Hello Everyone

Hope all is well and you have had a chance to head out into the amazing weather over the last few weeks. Here, at Future Leap we are delighted to be welcoming not only an increasing number of co-workers to the space, but also two new team members; Megan and Sasha! In their own words:

Megan:

“I’m super excited to join this lovely team, to learn more about sustainability and work towards a better future, something I am very passionate about. I have previously worked with local Bristol charities after graduating with a journalism degree”.

Sasha:

“I’m pleased to have the opportunity to be with Future Leap for two months this summer exploring more the possibility of a career in sustainability after completing my undergraduate degree in Geography.”

We are delighted to have them join the Future Leap family. Please do say hello if you see them at the Hub or an event.

A part of Sasha’s role will be to support me with our own sustainability journey. We were delighted last month to be finalists in the Bristol Life Environmental category and even more thrilled this month to learn that we have won the Insider South West Property Award for the Most Sustainable Project! More details can be found here. We hope to continue this upward trajectory in terms of our environmental credentials by going for B Corp accreditation. More details about our sustainability approach can be found here

A major focus of our sustainability work is to help you accelerate your sustainability journey and as such, we are excited to have launched information about the Environmental Technologies found within the Future Leap Hub. If you are not able to come to our carbon neutral space to see these technologies in person at the moment, do head over to our Future Leap website. The page includes enquiry forms through which you can register your interest in sustainable services and products.

Another way in which you/your organisation could improve your sustainability is by heading along to our Festival of Sustainable Business. The Festival includes a hybrid conference on Zero Emissions Day (21st September 2021) where we will be welcoming expert speakers to discuss topics such as sustainable transport, low carbon housing and heat networks. There are still some seminar sponsorship opportunities available, so do get in touch if this is of interest.

You could also consider having one of our consultancy team support you with your sustainability. Here, at Future Leap we understand that things can get busy and despite good intentions, sustainability actions might fall off the ‘to do’ list. Let us help! Our experts can support you with various sustainability initiatives. Get in touch for a free consultation. We look forward to helping you explore potential options to enhance your sustainable business practices.

And finally, I would like to share with you an article that Professor James Longhurst and I co-authored. It explores corporate engagement with carbon management techniques. Please do take a read, we would welcome your feedback.

Have a wonderful rest of the day and here’s hoping I see you (in person?!) at one of our events soon!

Katherine Piper

Director of Partnerships and Sustainability
