Future Leap member, Stylemongers Of Bristol, is planning to open an interior design hub on Gloucester Road.

More than just a shop, the vision is to create a welcoming and immersive studio space to host interior design workshop experiences, and to conduct client consultations and design work all under one roof. Doubling as a retail space for furniture, fabrics and wallpapers from carefully selected suppliers, there will be a regularly changing programme of inspiring displays in the window for all in the local community to enjoy. The workshop experiences held at the hub will have a focus on enhancing wellbeing through creativity and connecting with other participants, with interior design skills as a useful outcome and will be available to individuals and corporate teams alike.

Aiming to raise £30k, a successful crowdfunding campaign would allow Stylemongers Of Bristol to raise the rent to secure the first year and transform the space in a low pressure way, whilst delivering rewards and planning ahead to ensure the sustainability of year two.

Founder Zoe Hewett says: “For almost 17 years I’ve lived near Gloucester Road and I’ve always loved it independent spirit so I would be beyond excited to join the street and invite people in. Carrying all my heavy workshop kit to and from other event spaces is tiring and means I can only offer a reduced selection of materials, whereas if I can host sessions in my own workspace I can provide much wider palette of samples of people to play with when they’re moodboarding. It also allows people to step into my creative environment which I think will be refreshing, particularly if they’re coming on a corporate wellness day, so that will only enrich their experience. Also, even though most of my work as a designer is desk based, I do sometimes get the paints out for customising furniture and screen-printing fabric, which you can’t really do in a shared co-working space as its ‘wet work’. Being able to do everything in one place would be just fantastic plus I think people always like to see a bit of the behind the scenes making and doing as well.”

There is a range of rewards on offer from as little as £5 to £15k, including greetings cards, DIY interior design kits and online courses to bespoke done-for-you design services for homeowners and small businesses. The higher ticket rewards include creativity workshop experiences for corporate team-building and wellness days, plus a few surprises.
