As a business service provider with a community of value-driven organizations at its core, our consultancy team specialises in the measurement, management, and reduction of carbon emissions. Due to growth, we are looking to expand our team by recruiting a Sustainability and Net Zero Consultant.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver net zero consultancy projects, focusing on the measurement, management, and reduction of carbon emissions. 
  • Analyse emissions data for scopes 1, 2, and 3. 
  • Understand carbon reporting frameworks (GHG protocol, SBTi, ISO) and produce structured, insightful reports for regulatory compliance. 
  • Help clients set ambitious yet achievable short and long-term net zero targets. 
  • Conduct business assessments and site audits to identify emissions reduction opportunities and integrate them into carbon reduction and net zero transition plans. 
  • Evaluate low-carbon technologies, assessing their feasibility and impact on cost and carbon. 
  • Serve as a trusted contact for clients, managing follow-up care including repeat foot printing and yearly progress reviews. 
  • Identify ways to accelerate action and remove barriers, advising on available grant funding and signposting Future Leap’s offerings. 
  • Engage in business development activities to enhance client relationships and maximise value for both the client and Future Leap. 
  • Contribute to business development and marketing campaigns, promote Future Leap’s services, and participate in events. 

Essential Skills: 

  • Knowledge and experience of carbon accounting and net-zero regulations and frameworks (SBTi, PAS2060, PAS 2080, SECR, ESOS, TCFD, ESRS). 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with carbon calculators and accounting platforms. 
  • Proven project management experience, managing risk, resources, and delivering projects on time and within budget. 
  • Highly numerate with an ability to analyse large datasets. 
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal. 
  • Skilled in writing reports and presenting complex information in an accessible manner. 
  • Solid understanding of business operations and ability to advise clients on the benefits of strategic sustainability actions. 
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing a varied workload. 
  • Skilled in forming and developing relationships with key stakeholders. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental issues. 

Desirable Skills: 

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (engineering, energy, construction, surveying, environmental management, environmental science, sustainability, or business operations). 
  • Knowledge and experience of energy auditing and low-carbon energy solution modelling. 
  • Understanding of broader sustainability and ESG concerns (biodiversity, water use, supply chain considerations, social sustainability). 
  • Experience in a consultancy environment and knowledge of bid application processes. 
  • Experience implementing or managing environmental management solutions such as ISO 14001.

Hours Full-time Monday-Friday (part-time and flexible work patterns considered) 

Salary £28k-£30k per annum, depending on experience.
