The best part of working for Future Leap? A team of wonderful, passionate people.

Tom Batten

He holds an MSc in sustainable development, and prior to joining Future Leap has amassed 15 years of senior operations and project management experience in the hospitality, retail, and, charity sectors. Having spent most of his career working for constantly evolving start-ups, he understands the challenges faced by growing businesses, and can always spot the benefits and opportunities that sustainability can offer.

Tom is adept at developing strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and is dedicated to providing the highest levels of service and client care.

Outside of work, he is an experienced scuba diver, amateur wine afficionado and loves to travel.

Simon Forsyth

Senior Environmental Consultant

Simon stumbled into environmental management in 1989 by offering to look after a paper-recycling bin. After that, things rather ran away with themselves.

He helped set up the Green Teams at Hewlett Packard in Bristol, ran them for five years, then became HP Ltd’s full-time environmental specialist. He left in 2000 to run a small consultancy, went on to run the Econet in-work training project, helped deliver the southwest-wide Envision programme, established a number of Resource Efficiency Clubs for small businesses, trained  a lot of Trading Estates, and now focuses on the business linkages between cost-intensity, carbon-intensity, and becoming more profitable.

To condense all this into something usable, he’s produced carbon calculating software – the dataCollator

Technically he’s a neuroscientist, with a degree and PhD in neurobiology, but that was a long time ago…

Eleanor Akers

Consultant

Eleanor is a chartered Chemical Engineer and holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins. She works with businesses around the world to help them understand where they are on their sustainability journeys and plot their next steps on the road to net zero.

She has experiences at all stages of the energy value chain in Europe and North America and a detailed knowledge of the economics and technical requirements of distributed energy systems and sustainability tech.

She is skilled at using big data to uncover opportunities for her clients to become more sustainable and reduce operating costs.

When not at her desk she can usually be found on her yoga mat, out on her bike or curled up with a good book.

Katie Akers

Consultant

Katie holds a degree in European Law from Maastricht University. She has both professional and academic experience in the energy sector.

She presented an analysis of the role of renewables in European power markets to senior executives at a multinational energy company as part of her work experience. Her thesis analysed how law has facilitated the success of the EU’s Emission Trading Scheme.

She currently helps businesses on their sustainability journey by translating each client’s unique requirements into a series of actionable points and ensuring compliance in day-to-day operations.

When not working she enjoys cooking (having just perfected her stroganoff recipe!), reading and spending time with friends.

Eoin McQuone

Consultant

Eoin is a Carbon Consultant at Future leap, helping businesses to calculate their emissions, set science-based targets and plot their roadmap to Net Zero.

Eoin has over 30 years experience of working in the manufacturing industry and is a Practitioner Member of the Institute of Environmental Management.

He has worked with a wide variety of businesses from sole operators to multinationals in sectors as diverse as manufacturing, IT, financial services and hospitality and has a particular expertise in Scope 3 emissions.

As the founder of Go Climate Positive, a member of the Cheltenham Economic Recovery Task Force and the FSB, Eoin is passionate about supporting SMEs to understand and manage their carbon footprint.

When not working Eoin likes to let his hair down playing bass with the leading tribute band “Dire Streets” and running on the Cotswold Way.

Gordon Bazeley

Consultant

Gordon has worked in eCommerce product management for over thirteen years and holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town.

He’s worked with businesses of all sizes and has created new products, scaled technology organisations and supported operational teams.

Gordon is an expert at engaging with stakeholders at all levels and in helping businesses to meet their objectives.

He is now focused on helping businesses take smarter steps to a smaller footprint by considering ways to become more sustainable in all aspects of their operations. He has a particular focus on improving digital portfolios and in adopting circularity.

Outside of work Gordon is an enthusiastic, if unaccomplished, mountain biker and enjoys reading and travelling.
