Recapping the Festival of Sustainable Business 21/22 with Katherine Piper

It’s a wrap! The Festival of Sustainable Business 21/22 has come to a close and what an amazing series of three events it turned out to be. In total, we welcomed over 1100 people to the Festival and received such brilliant, encouraging feedback.

A beautifully organised event and a great energy throughout. Overall I thought that there was a palpable sense of action and positivity despite the obvious and huge challenges that the occasion shines a spotlight on…Really nice to have the opportunity to have conversations with such a diverse range of attendees all so passionate about a sustainable future for our planet.

Ben Carruthers, Creative Director at Carruthers Tanner

The Festival enabled 42 speakers to share their expertise, facilitated a whopping 850 minutes of all important networking with 80% of attendees saying they would return next year.

Our final instalment of the Festival of Sustainable Business 21/22 took place just over two weeks ago at the beautiful Paintworks event space. We had a COP26 Traction on Action stage where we were inspired by 26 expert speakers, we made meaningful connections with 50 exhibitors showcasing their sustainability-related products and services, we met the people behind the City Leap initiative; an enormous opportunity for Bristol to decarbonise and some of us even went out for a spin on an e-scooter, e-bike or in a Tesla!

But that is not the end of any of our activities. We now need to put those insights, connections and knowledge into action! Like I said in the exhibition opening presentation, building a sustainable future requires businesses to work together and this is where the Future Leap team can help.

None of this would be possible without the wonderful support of our sponsors so a huge shout out to our Headline Sponsors, Bristol City Council, EQUANS and Brunel Group. Thank you to Bristol City Leap, YTKO, Solarsense and Shire Leasing for sponsoring the Festival Exhibition. To Termex, Latcham, Michelmores, TLT, Skylark Media, and Noughts & Ones for sponsoring our Gala Dinner and Awards. Another thank you to Kensa, Triodos Bank, Bevan Brittan and TLT once again for sponsoring our Conference last year.

Plans for the Festival of Sustainable Business 2023 are already underway. If your organisation would like to sponsor an element of the Festival, we are offering a 10% discount if booked before the end of July. Please get in touch for further details if of interest.

Sir David Attenborough said at COP26, “If working apart we are a force powerful enough to destabilise our planet, surely working together we are powerful enough to save it”.  With this in mind, please continue to engage with our wonderful community of change-makers doing “business unusual”.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our weekly events or carbon neutral co-working spaces soon.

With very best wishes and relentless optimism,

Katherine
