Behaviour Change and Consumerism

18th October | 8am-10am | Bristol (Clifton)

Join us for this business breakfast in the lead up to the seasonal holidays to discuss behaviour change and consumerism.

Future Leap Clifton, The Old Chapel, 16 Oakfield, Bristol, BS8 2AP

Free to Future Leap members

Consumerism is at the crux of many of the environmental challenges that we now face.

What do we know about techniques that stop, and encourage, sustainable behaviour?

How can we watch what we sell, creating purpose-led businesses with internal behaviour change strategies?

How can we watch what we buy, creating mindful purchasing behaviour?

As the seasonal holidays draw ever closer, join us to discuss consumerism and behaviour change…and how we can make sustainable choices more accessible for all.

We are welcoming speakers from Six Agency, Quirk Solutions and Beagle Button.

We have reduced our capacity so you can be mindful of each other’s space. We ask all physical attendees to not attend if showing any covid symptoms.

Daniel Hemsley, Co-Founder, Beagle Button

Daniel will be speaking on “Why don’t consumers make sustainable choices?” 73% of people say they want to make more sustainable choices but very few actually do. Why is that and what role can technology play in helping bridge the gap between intention and action? Our recommendation engine has put 50,000 sustainable alternatives in front of eco shoppers, we’ll share what we’ve learnt and what actually moves the dial on sustainable consumption.

Laura Millar, Six Agency

Laura will be speaking about the two sides of consumerism; Watch what you sell & watch what you buy. She will discuss why as businesses we need to be purpose-led, but also as individuals we need to understand the behavioural biases which some businesses use to make us buy what we don’t need.

Chris Paton, Managing Director, Quirk Solutions

“How to address complexity”

Creating the psychological safe space for teams to generate diversity of thought and identify solutions is essential in such a fast moving and uncertain world. In this short talk, learn how gamification can help unlock that potential.
