💼 Green Business Grants: A Game-Changer for SMEs Taking Climate Action
In today’s economic climate, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are navigating rising costs, shifting regulations, and increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions. For many, the path to sustainability can feel out of reach—especially when budgets are tight and long-term planning is a luxury.
That’s why the Green Business Grants from the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (WEMCA) are such a game-changer.
🌱 What Are Green Business Grants?
These grants offer £200 to £15,000 to cover up to 60% of eligible costs for energy-saving improvements—helping businesses cut carbon, reduce utility bills, and improve operational efficiency. Whether you’re installing LED lighting, upgrading insulation, or investing in solar panels, the grant is designed to make sustainability more accessible.
With £2 million in funding available, it’s a first-come, first-served opportunity not to be missed.
🧭 Why It Matters for SME
For small business owners, every decision counts. These grants can:
- Unlock cost savings through reduced energy bills
- Enable long-term stability by future-proofing operations
- Support growth by freeing up resources for innovation
- Demonstrate climate leadership to customers and stakeholders
But to access the funding, businesses must first understand and target their carbon emissions—a process that can feel daunting without expert support.
That’s where Future Leap Consultancy comes in.

✅ Who’s Eligible?
To apply, your business must:

- Be a registered entity (e.g. limited company, sole trader, CIC, charity)
- Provide match funding for your project
- Have completed an independent energy or carbon assessment recommending the improvements
Note: Schools, care homes, and domestic landlords are not eligible. Some community groups are eligible if registered as one of the approved entities.
