August at Future Leap

Dear Future Leap Community,

As the summer rolls on, we have plenty of exciting news and updates to share with you! This August is a particularly special month for us, as we celebrate a milestone that wouldn’t have been possible without your continued support and commitment.

Celebrating 20 Years of Innovation and Impact!

This month marks Future Leap’s 20th Anniversary, and we are beyond excited to celebrate two decades of accelerating the green transition alongside such a vibrant and forward-thinking community. We hope you’ll join us for our birthday celebrations this evening! Book your tickets here if you haven’t already. This event is not just a reflection on how far we’ve come, but also a look towards the future as we officially launch our latest Impact Report.

The Impact Report showcases our collective achievements and outlines our ongoing commitment to sustainability. We are proud of the progress we’ve made together, and we encourage you to explore the full report, either in this newsletter, on our website or sustainably printed at one of our hubs.

Welcoming New Partners: The Green Schools Project

In addition to our celebrations, we’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with The Green Schools Project, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of environmental leaders. Check out this interview to learn more about their work.

Festival of Sustainable Business – Our Biggest Event Yet!

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for our annual Festival of Sustainable Business, which promises to be our biggest event yet. This year, we’re moving to a larger venue at We The Curious, allowing us to accommodate over 1,000 attendees.

Headline sponsored by Retrofit West and The Eco Scheme, the festival will continue to be a free event, ensuring that everyone has the chance to learn, connect, and collaborate on the journey towards sustainability.

A highlight of this year’s festival will be our expanded Sustainable Transport Zone, sponsored by Lexus, within Millennium Square. If you’re planning to test drive a Lexus or Tesla, don’t forget to bring your driving license!

We still have a couple of sponsorship opportunities available (Headline and Inclusivity), so if you’re interested in getting involved, please get in touch events@futureleap.co.uk.

Life in the Hubs: Summer Updates

With many away on summer holidays, things have been a bit quieter in the hubs. But for those staying local, the atmosphere has been lively, with the Olympics on the big screen, along with our usual offerings of free yoga, dinner and drinks, and networking lunches.

If you’re thinking of using the hubs during the summer, now’s the perfect time to check to book a tour.

Consultancy Team Expansion

While August might typically be a slower month for some, our consultancy team has been busier than ever! Alongside our ongoing projects with Clifton College, The National Composites Centre, Nijhuis, RBH Management, and the BrisBES business support programme, we’ve taken on new contracts with Bristol and Bath Regional Capital and Julian House to help them shape their climate strategies.

We’re also thrilled to have SRA Architects and Equisoft UK returning for repeat carbon footprint calculations, and we’re diving into an exciting Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) project for Clifton Coffee and carbon footprinting for The Assemblies Group’s Christmas menu.

With all this growth, we’re expanding our team and are currently recruiting an additional sustainability consultant. We’ve received applications from some incredible candidates and hope to have our new team member in place by the end of September. Stay tuned for more updates next month!

Offices to Let

As our community continues to grow, we have office spaces available for those looking to join our hubs. If you or someone you know is interested, please reach out for more information.

In the meantime, I hope you’re enjoying the summer and finding some time to soak up the sunshine. We look forward to catching up with you soon—whether in the hubs, over a consultancy chat, or at our upcoming Festival!

Warm regards,

Katherine
