Future Leap October Update: Discover, Collaborate and Innovate for a sustainable future

Dear Readers,

Well, what an unsettling month this has been with challenges around the cost of living, energy and supply chains all being such high profile! We hope you and your organisations are doing ok given all that is going on in the news and I wanted to stress that here at Future Leap, we can support your organisation with energy efficiency measures and link you in with trusted supply chain partners. It is more important now, than ever that we get on board with sustainable business practices which ultimately will be good for people, planet and your purse! If financing initiatives is an issue, don’t forget our new arm of the business, Future Leap Finance, might be able to support your needs.

In line with our tag line, Discover – Collaborate – Innovate, here is what we have been up to over the last month:

DISCOVER – We are back into the swing of things with our regular events programme having delivered sustainability workshops and events on clean growth, the climate emergency, hosted a line at the Sustainable Fashion Week catwalk, enjoyed meeting people at our regular netwalking event, delivered training on sustainability communications, Behaviour Change and Consumerism and Sustainability Certifications…phew! Definitely many opportunities to discover many new  sustainability-related ideas and initiatives.

And we are putting all this learning into practice as our team are working behind the scenes to get all our B Corp evidencing in one place for our upcoming audit. If you need help with your B Corp submission, please get in touch.

COLLABORATE – We have been in a lot of talks around how we can enhance business engagement on climate with Bristol City Council, City Leap, law and accountancy managing partners and Blue Earth Summit organisers to name just a few! We have also sponsored this year’s Bristol Live Environment Award and have welcomed network members and co-workers alike to our monthly Dinner and Drinks and of course welcomed various new members to our community of changemakers.

INNOVATE – And looking to the future, we have done a lot of work around engagement with our future workforce, for example attending Bristol University’s Sustainable Engineering careers event, whilst also innovating within our Clifton Hub with the imminent opening of our new Media Studio.

Finally, don’t forget to get in touch if you can help support any of the above activities. We are particularly interested in organisations that might be able to sponsor our Festival of Sustainable Business.

Keep up the good work one and all. As Attenborough said at COP26:

“If working apart we are a force powerful enough to destabilise our planet, surely working together we are powerful enough to save it.”

Very best wishes,

Katherine Piper
