September at Future Leap with Keryn Seal

Hello, and welcome to another edition of the Future Leap newsletter, this one coming to you from sunny Exeter and from me, Keryn Seal.

In my new role as the Regional Business Development Manager for Exeter and Devon, I wanted to say hi and provide our network members with an update on the developments beyond the boundaries of Bristol.

After the great work spent building up the Future Leap network in Bristol over many years, I am delighted to have been brought on board to help establish and grow the first satellite for us in Devon. Beginning with Exeter and expanding throughout the county, we are establishing a new network of members, hosting events, and eventually looking to establish the first Exeter co-working hub for Future Leap.

Commencing with our inaugural Exeter event on October 2nd, organised in partnership with Stephens-Scown LLP at their central Exeter offices, we are excited to present ‘Using Innovation to Boost Growth, Profitability and Drive Sustainability Impact’. If you have colleagues or branches located in Exeter, we encourage you to share the link and participate in this exciting evening here.

We are thankful to Tanya Popeau for being the guest speaker for this event. Tanya serves as an associate lecturer at Exeter University and has provided consultation to the United Nations for their latest sustainability framework. We are truly thrilled to have her share insights on how businesses can harness innovation to foster sustainable practices that, in turn, fuel growth. We are looking forward to collaborating with Tanya and eagerly await her valuable insights.

Shifting our focus back to Bristol, we are thrilled to inform you about the fantastic line-up of events we have in store as our event series resumes in September. Let’s take a closer look at the ones that have us particularly excited:

Netwalking / 27.09.23

Creating Impactful Change: Language, Lessons and Leadership / 05.10.23

People, Planet, Profit: Achieving Holistic Sustainability in Your Business / 17.10.23

Turning our attention to different developments, we’re thrilled to announce the successful recording of our first Future Leap podcast, a collaborative effort with Bristol 247. This exciting venture took place at our recently established Media Studios in Clifton. Check out the recording here.

Our consultancy team has also accomplished a remarkable project in collaboration with the local legends of Pieminister. They are not only raising the standards with their pies but also with the design of their impact report. You can access their impact report for the year 2022/2023 here.

Finally, our team spent a fantastic day away day with Avon Needs Trees helping to maintain saplings to encourage a new woodland in South Bristol. Despite the heat of the day, our team loved the feeling of making a real and tangible difference on this hand on conservation – and getting away from the desk was a bonus!

I would like to end my part of the newsletter by saying how excited I am to be part of the Future Leap family. Leveraging my background in business development, I’m genuinely excited to contribute to making our corner of the world a bit more sustainable. Thank you to all the team for making me feel so welcome, and for giving me the benefit of their experience to learn how we can help more potential network members on their sustainability journey.
