Retrofit West CIC wins Business Support Grant to boost Retrofit Supply Chain

Retrofit West CIC is proud to announce its success in securing the Business Support Grant from the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority through the Green Recovery Fund. This strategic achievement positions Retrofit West at the forefront of sustainable initiatives, amplifying their impact on the region’s retrofit landscape.

The Combined Authority have created a £60m Green Recovery Fund to help meet our climate and ecology ambitions as set out in their Climate & Ecological Strategy & Action Plan. Retrofit West CIC’s recognition and receipt of this funding shows their dedication to driving positive change and fostering a greener, more sustainable construction industry.

With the newly acquired grant, Retrofit West CIC is set to organise an array of over 50 networking events and training sessions throughout the year hosted by their partners at The Green Register, Future Leap, Bath College and YTKO. These sessions are carefully crafted to support and upskill tradespeople and other professionals eager to delve into the transformative realm of retrofit and equip them with the knowledge and expertise needed to excel in sustainable building practices.

One of the key highlights of Retrofit West’s expansion is the establishment of a Retrofit Hub. This digital platform will serve as a collaborative space where professionals can pose their retrofit-related questions, discover exciting projects, and advertise their services to foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and networking within the retrofit community.

Commenting on the grant success, Retrofit West’s Managing Director Simon Andrews, said, “We are thrilled to receive the Business Support Grant. This grant allows us to significantly expand our reach and impact, enabling us to support and empower even more professionals to accelerate the retrofit sector.”

The events and training sessions curated by Retrofit West will cover a spectrum of topics, ranging from the latest innovations in green technologies to practical insights into eco-friendly construction materials. These initiatives aim to create a vibrant and informed community of professionals who can collectively contribute to the region’s green recovery.

As the demand for sustainable building solutions continues to rise, Retrofit West CIC is committed to playing a pivotal role in nurturing a skilled workforce ready to meet this demand. As they embark on this exciting journey, Retrofit West invites professionals and contractors to join them in shaping the landscape of sustainable retrofitting through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and collective action.

Retrofit West will be hosting a launch event to kick off the project, 6pm on 25th April at BAWA Leisure, Bristol.  All tradespeople and retrofit professionals are invited and can sign up here: https://futureleap.co.uk/2024/04/25/retrofit-west-launch-building-connections/
