Do you want living compost? Generation Soil turns your food waste into living compost and returns it to your doorstep
Are you tired of poor results in your garden?
Unfortunately conventional compost is inert substrate, often loaded with artificial fertiliser, and devoid of the microbiology required for growing without artificial inputs.

Generation Soil turn your food waste into microbial-rich living compost and deliver it to your doorstep. Why do we do this? Healthy soil is brimming with life and contains mycelium, nematodes and billions of beneficial microorganisms. Just one teaspoon contains over 10 billion of them! These microorganisms break down minerals in the soil, making them available for plants to absorb. They also:
- create structure
- prevent compaction
- hold soil together
- create habitat
- Improve water retention
Each one percent increase on organic matter in soil can store up to 25,000 gallons of water per acre…
By adding organic matter in the form of living compost to your soils, you can:
1️⃣ improve the health of your plants
2️⃣ reduce the amount of watering
3️⃣ prevent flooding
Biologically complete, deliciously fertile soil can only be made at a small, local scale with time, care, knowledge, energy and attention. Once our living soil is ready, we distribute it amongst our members.
The different membership tiers are as follows:
£5 PER MONTH SOIL SUPPORTER – 5+ litres of living compost returned
£10 PER MONTH SOIL SAINT – 40+ litres of living compost returned
£15 PER MONTH SOIL SAVIOUR – 80+ litres of living compost returned
Not sure which one to pick? As a quick guideline on quantities of compost – we recommend a minimum of 5 litres of living compost inoculum per 10m2 to establish a healthy soil food web – but the more, the better.
Additionally, it’s important for the microorganisms to have a good supply of organic matter (roots in soil) to feed them the sugars they need. The plants create these sugars during photosynthesis and exchange them for minerals and other nutrients with the microbes.
