Sustainable Buildings: Free tour of Future Leap; an award-winning carbon neutral business hub

Thu 31st of August 2023 | 8am - 10 am | Future Leap Business hub, Gloucester Road

Calling all those working within the construction industry/built environment. Future Leap in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric and Alec French Architects are offering a free tour of their award-winning carbon neutral sustainable business hub on Gloucester Road, Bristol.

As part of YTKO’s Building Growth South-West programme, representatives from Future Leap, Mitsubishi Electric and Alec French Architects will walk you through the design thinking and the green tech associated with the retrofit of Future Leap’s 1930s award-winning building.

You will hear about how they have considered circular economy principles (even the carpets are made from discarded fishing nets removed from the ocean!), see cutting edge tech, such as a state-of-the-art air source heat pump and a mechanical ventilation heat recovery system and witness the buzz of activity from one of the largest living walls in Bristol!

The tour will be following by a discussion with Head of Sustainability at Mitsubishi Electric UK and IRE, Martin Fahey, Alec French Architects Consultant Nigel Dyke and Head of Partnerships and Sustainability at Future Leap, Katherine Piper.

Building Growth South West is delivering Workforce for the Future support on behalf of the West of England Combined Authority, funded by European Social Fund. For more information on Workforce for the Future, please contact the West of England Growth Hub here.
