DigiLocal

DigiLocal is a charity supporting the education of marginalised young people in Bristol and the UK. We support weekly community based coding clubs that accept young people from 8 years old. They start with Scratch projects and move on to python as they gain confidence and knowledge. We are also tackling digital inequality and waste by repurposing donated laptops. These go to marginalised young people in digital poverty to support their access to educational resources.

Please detail ways in which your organisation can support fellow members of the Future Leap Network.

We can offer volunteering opportunities for you to support young people in your community, or in a community you would like to work with. We have 12 clubs across the Bristol region and are always happy to launch more!

Why are you most excited about joining the Future Leap Network?

Technology touches every aspect of our lives these days, and working with diverse communities helps us support our young people by showing them the many ways in which an understanding of coding can help their aspirations and ambitions.
