Tom Batten’s 2023 Consultancy Team Highlights and Exciting Plans for 2024!

2023 was an exciting and successful year for the Future Leap Consultancy team, and we have been busy helping lots of organisations on their net zero journeys. A few highlights have been the work we undertook with Pieminister to understand and reduce the embodied carbon in their recipes, working with Films@59 to develop their climate strategy, and producing the ‘Provision of Low Carbon Evidence Base’ report for WECA, which provides insight into some of the challenges and priorities for decarbonisation in the region. We have continued to expand and broaden our client base and are proud to be working with fantastic businesses including Kate’s Kitchen, Clifton Coffee, Stride Treglown, Sustainable Kitchens, Aspiga Fashion, Stancold, Gilcrest, Clarity Housekeeping, Bristol Care Homes and Bristol Pride. We also continued our work with UWE, providing modules for their skills for clean growth programme, and delivered an Organisational sustainability skills bootcamp course to two cohorts of learners in partnership with YTKO.

2024 is looking like it’s going to be a bumper year and we already have some exciting projects in the pipeline. These include carbon footprinting and net zero strategy development for Clifton College, providing carbon assessment reports for around thirty businesses across North Somerset, and continuing our partnership with YTKO by offering net zero reports as part of the Bristol Business Enterprise Support programme. We will also continue to develop our relationships with our existing clients and already have projects scheduled with Banner and Nihjuis Saur Industries.

It’s looking like 2024 will be characterised by strong growth as we benefit from increasing awareness of the benefits of transitioning to low carbon ways of doing business. We will use our expertise to continue to support organisations looking to reduce their impact on the climate and, along with Future Leap Ecofit and Future Leap Finance, will attempt to remove barriers to meaningful action. Along the way we are planning to build our team of net zero consultants, develop our suite of tools, and nurture impactful partnerships with other purpose-driven organisations. We are keen to talk to anyone who needs help with their climate strategy, and wish you all a happy, prosperous and climate-friendly New Year.
