Future Leap News in April – developments in spring

This Spring there is lot to take note of in Bristol’s green economy transition, with some exciting projects and developments to keep an eye on. And many Future Leap developments on the horizon too. Future Leap were delighted to have been Bristol City Leap’s chosen partner to deliver the initiative’s launch on 30th March, and are all set to deliver its series of roadshow events throughout April and May. Another project to watch out for is Sparks, the creative innovative hub for sustainability in the former Marks and Spencer’s building. Future Leap is keen to support this brilliant initiative; a rethinking of how city centres could look. As such, we have given  The Global Goals Centre a free membership to the Future Leap Network, meaning they will be able to promote all their activities to our community of changemakers.

The Festival of Sustainable Business is a hot topic as ever with award applications now open, planning well underway for the Exhibition in June and the exciting new addition of a pitch hour, an opportunity for businesses to secure funding. We had 430 attendances to the Festival hybrid conference which generated a great buzz throughout the day. Many thanks to all sponsors, and a particular shout out to our Headline Sponsors, Building Growth South West (BGSW). BGSW are equally busy providing part or fully funded skills and training projects to construction SMEs across the South West. Get in touch if you would like to learn more. For those who attended the conference, please do fill out your feedback forms if you haven’t already, helping us to continually improve our Festival offer.

April is also all systems go for the launch of the Media Studios at Future Leap Clifton, early May. We are very excited to add this service to our Future Leap roster, enabling Bristol creatives to make use of a greenscreen, podcast studio, film studio and general equipment hire. If you are looking for any of those facilities please do get in touch.

Fenna and I had the opportunity to hone our  podcast recording skills by participating in Mitsubishi’s Ask ME podcast series and delve into what it means to run a sustainability focused workspace and the wider sustainability activity within Bristol. And in other news I was featured on channel 4’s political slot via a recent visit to the Gloucester Road hub from Carla Denyer, Green Party co-leader.

In addition to the media studio launch, we also have a beautiful fully serviced office available to let in our Clifton co-working site. Earn £1000 of co-working credit for your account by referring the person that will take this office. Let furnished and fully serviced with a free Future Leap business network membership, suitable for 12-15 people. Six months minimum contract, rolling thereafter. Email clifton@futureleap.co.uk or call 0117 945 8730 for more info or to book a tour.

Here’s to more exciting developments as spring progresses!
