Written by West of England Combined Authority

Rooftop Solar Grants

Grants from £15,000 to £50,000 are available to businesses to install solar panels on their premises.

You can apply for a grant of up to 30% towards eligible capital costs of purchase and installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels. The minimum grant request is £15,000 and maximum is £50,000. You will need to provide at least 70% match funding towards the project.

A Rooftop Solar Grant is designed to encourage small and medium enterprises and registered charities to install solar panels on their larger commercial and industrial roofs such as warehouses, factories and larger offices. The resulting energy generation will help to cut your greenhouse gas emissions and your energy costs.

For grant requests less than £15,000 applications can be made through the Green Business Grants programme which is open for applications.

£500,000 is available first come, first served to small and medium businesses and registered charities in Bath & North-East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

The Heat Pump Grant is aimed at SMEs and registered charities to replace old, inefficient fossil fuel heating systems. Grant is available first come, first served. You will need to provide at least 40% match funding towards the project.

Applications must help the business to achieve a measurable reduction in greenhouse gas emissions when compared to your current baseline emissions.

Small to medium sized businesses can apply for a grant to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings and business operations. The grant could help you reduce greenhouse gas emissions, lower your energy bills and maintenance costs, as well as make your buildings healthier for your employees.

Grants from £500 to £15,000 are available to pay for 30 to 60 per cent of eligible capital costs of purchase and installation, depending on the business’ size, location, and project.

Applications must be supported with a free carbon survey. The resulting carbon report sets out potential improvements that could help reduce your emissions and energy bills.
