Future Leap was created to give organisations the space, knowledge, contacts and tools to accelerate their sustainability journey and progress towards net zero. Future Leap supports businesses and has a diverse service offering including: Co-working and meeting spaces, Café and Retail, Business Network, Events programme, Sustainability consultancy and Financial services. 


Future Leap organises regular sustainability and business focussed events aimed at knowledge sharing and networking; including the annual Festival of Sustainable Business event series and other external sustainability-focused events.  


About the role  

Future Leap are looking to increase the number of event freelancers we can call upon when we have extra event management work available. This job opportunity is ongoing and there is no specific close date. Future Leap run numerous events including our own events program and we run events on behalf of external clients throughout the year. 

We are looking for ad hoc support in planning for and running live events. Experience with event management and time-sensitive projects is necessary. A full brief outlining requirements and expectations will be given for each event project. 

Most projects will involve setting up, running and packing down live events. Some projects will also include (but are not limited to) sales outreach, liaising with suppliers/stakeholders, organising data, creating event listings and signing in guests. 

Freelance Event Managers will report to the Future Leap Events Manager and must ensure activities promote and protect the health, safety and wellbeing of all participants including staff and guests. They must also ensure public facing activities, events or published content reflects the ethics of the Future Leap brand. 



Skills and Experience  

  • Similar event management experience  
  • Live lead coordination of regular small events  
  • Proactive attitude and customer service approach   
  • Understanding of zoom features  
  • Ability to manage time effectively  
  • Experience with spreadsheets, word documents and slidedecks 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including telephone manner

Hours: Freelance, zero hours contract 

Rate: £15 an hour, you are in charge of your own taxes and insurances, and would need to invoice Future Leap.
